Mirakulum family park is a fantastic destination for a family day trip out of Prague.
Prague is an amazing destination in itself. Full of history, magic and breathtaking views. The city is also packed with children attractions, playgrounds and activities. However, there are also some options around Prague that are perfect. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the family park Mirakulum is a perfect destination.
What is Mirakulum?
Imagine a large park, full of climbing equipment, slides, swings, towers and castles. Throw in a maze, mini ZOO, forest walks and even a tank ride. Add underground tunnels and inflatable bouncy toys. Finish it off with water play area in summer – and you have the Mirakulum Family Park near Prague. What else do you need to keep the children happy?
Here is the list of our favourite places in the park:
- The Castle
This is a large castle with towers and balconies connected through a network of tunnels suspended few meters above the ground. There is also a number of slides and one of them takes you down to the dungeons underneath the building. OK, these are not really dungeons but more like concrete corridors and there are not cells or monsters there. However, you are better off bringing a torchlight with you.
TIP: You can buy a torchlight in the souvenir shop by the entrance.
- The Giant Swings
These must be the biggest swings we have ever seen. They are enormous. According to the park, they are 12m high and have 22m long swing. It is one of those attractions that will silence any thrill seeking child.
-
The Forest Town
This is a vast array of towers, houses and structures – all connected by a network of zip lines and bridges hidden in the treetops. Additionally, there is also extensive underground structure. Our kids absolutely loved exploring the hidden secret places. They loved surprising us from behind as they appeared in most unexpected places.
-
The Volcano slide
Next to the Forest Town there is this most unusual slide – the Volcano. Interestingly, it does not offer you the traditional ladder to get to the top. Instead, the children have to crawl up this tent-like structure only by holding to the structure itself.
The park is spread across a vast area, partially covered by a forest, which helps if visiting on a hot day. It is easy to walk around and all the paths are stroller friendly.
Tickets for the Park
There is no need to pre-book the tickets and you can get them easily upon arrival. The tickets prices range from 180 to 250 Czech Crown and children above 90cm height have to pay the full ticket price. However, there is also a range of discounted family tickets available.
Credit and debit cards are accepted.
Location
The Mirakulum family park is located approximately 40km (25miles) away from Prague.
You can get there by taking a train (45min) from Praha Masarykovo train station to Milovice. The Milovice station is only a short 10min bus ride away. All in all, the journey from Prague should take you no longer than 1h.
If you decide to hire a car it is about 30-40min drive. Please note that parking at Mirakulum is free of charge.
Food
Mirakulum offers multiple food outlets. More important, they are all reasonably priced. You will find here the typical crowd-pleasers. On top of hot dogs, grilled sausages or pizza you can find also more traditional Czech specialities. There is also plenty of ice-cream and coffee places to keep kids and parents happy.
We really enjoyed our family trip for a day from Prague to Mirakulum. It was a nice and relaxing change. Leaving the crowded city behind and enjoying outdoor activities, was a great way of recharging batteries. We highly recommend the park for families with children of all ages.
